Participants will explore governance structures, data oversight, faculty engagement, and infusion of AI across the organization, while addressing cybersecurity, ethics, and compliance. Sessions also focus on change management strategies to foster transparency, trust, and institutional alignment.

Applied Models and Frameworks for AI Governance and Practice

Participants will focus on translating AI policy and governance concepts into actionable strategies grounded in real-world examples from higher education institutions. Participants will explore these key themes:

  • Governance structures that promote responsible AI use, balancing innovation with critical considerations like data privacy, cybersecurity, academic integrity, and ethical decision-making.
  • Assessing existing policies to identify gaps and opportunities for adapting institutional frameworks to the evolving AI landscape.

Leveraging Change Management for Successful AI Adoption and Evolution

Whether you’re leading AI projects, managing impacted teams, or designing responsible AI governance policies, this session will equip you with actionable strategies to ensure AI adoption supports long-term organizational success and aligns with your mission, values, and ethical standards. Participants will

  • Review practical frameworks for guiding teams through the AI adoption lifecycle — from initial readiness assessments and pilot projects to scaling and continuous improvement.
  • Explore collaborative governance structures, cross-functional and -institutional alignment, and iterative feedback loops can drive both successful AI integration and organizational resilience.
  • Support a culture of transparency and trust around AI by incorporating clear communication strategies, addressing employee concerns, and embedding ethical considerations into AI deployment processes.
  • Employ a mechanism for continuous improvement and evolution of AI policy, governance and practice by identifying ways AI policy and governance can be adaptive and proactive instead of reactive and stagnant.
