Online shopping sites help you find products and enhance those search results based on who you are, where you live, and what you've purchased in the past. The site presents you with media related to products, reviews, and alternatives that are similar to your search criteria. In contrast, our academic bulletins and course catalogs present students with flat lists of majors, minors, and courses. What if the experience using academic bulletins could be as personalized as online shopping? Thanks to a grant from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, the University of Miami is building such a system.

Outcomes: Understand the importance of a personalized academic bulletin experience that matches the interests of students * Identify potential challenges with transforming academic program data from a traditional list to a dynamic and interactive system * Initiate discussions at your institution regarding personalizing the student experience with academic program bulletins
