Tuesday, January 30 | 10:45AM–11:30AM CT | Preservation Hall Studio 9, Second Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
The Associated Colleges of the Midwest, with funding from the Teagle Foundation, developed the Institute on College Futures Online (ICF Online), a self-paced professional development mini-course recreating summer workshops on higher education economics in an online environment. Using Acrobatiq’s adaptive learning platform and Smart Author environment, ICF Online links learning objectives, skills, and activities through cognitive modeling. A free resource site, created in Canvas, houses materials and readings related to the course. This presentation will describe the process of creating ICF Online, with panelists representing ACM college educational technologists, ACM consortial office staff, and Acrobatiq’s learning design team.

Outcomes: Understand the importance of providing professional development opportunities to faculty and staff regarding the financial operations of liberal arts colleges * Explain the advantages of delivering this type of professional development in an online or blended model * Evaluate the need for and potential success of this type of online professional development for your institution
