Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
Changing student demographics, a move toward performance-based funding, and a charge to prepare students for future employment have led to an increased focus on student success. In response, many colleges have begun utilizing web-based, risk-intervention early alert tools. The presentation will discuss SUNY's mentor-based, shared services model for expanding Hobson's Starfish across multiple campuses. The presenters will describe project goals, deliverables, and outcomes, along with strategies used to build a community of practice. Attendees will brainstorm ideas for assessing the impact of an early alert system and compare the differences between a traditional implementation model and the SUNY shared services model.

Outcomes: Explore the benefits and challenges of implementing an early alert system * Identify strategies for successfully implementing an early alert system * Generate ideas for assessing the impact of an early alert system
