Collaborating to Cultivate the NGDLE: Stories from Apereo
Interacting with the varying perspectives of our panel, you will engage with a pragmatic journey from today's LMS to the next generation digital learning environment (NGDLE), enabled via open-source platforms and tools. How do open-source communities around the world leverage their efforts to seek the best ways to develop and support new digital learning platforms?

Outcomes: Get examples of Apereo open-source software in support of learning practice * Understand the benefits of shared ownership when incorporating open-source software in educational environments * Identify with various contributors in the open-source community to actively engage and cultivate the NGDLE

NGDLEs in Action: How Schools Are Evolving Learning Technology
A brief presentation describing projects and services exploring the next generation digital learning environment at Duke will be followed by a discussion among attendees on what NGDLE means to them and how their departments and universities are putting the NGDLE concept into practice.

Outcomes: Understand how Duke's Center for Instructional Technology is applying NGDLE concepts in its project and service portfolio * Converse with others about how resonating and differing interpretations of NGDLE * List potential partners required for implementing NGDLE at your institution
