How do you tackle the pedagogical metamorphosis from teacher-centered methods to more student-centered environments? At LaSalle College, an active learning classroom was implemented in August of 2016. Since that time, data has been collected about the impact of the classroom design and furniture on student success and attendance rates. This session will highlight the research tools and outcomes used by the pedagogical team to study the transformation. Key strategies that led to the effective implementation of the approach used will be shared. Join us to learn more, engage in an interactive activity, and exchange ideas about the impact of active learning focused on the development of students' soft skills.

Outcomes: Learn techniques on how to effectively engage both faculty and students in active learning * Discuss ways to engage faculty to get buy-in to move from traditional lecture-style classes to more student-centered environments * Recognize the value of soft skills in preparing students for the workforce
