VR and AR present a provocation and an opportunity for education, transforming our relationship to technology and dramatically expanding the learning environment. This workshop will focus on developing a strategic vision for immersive learning that looks beyond the hype and our current educational practices to drive pedagogical innovation. You will engage in a tailored immersive learning design thinking exercise to examine how the technology requires multidimensional approaches to interdisciplinary collaboration, innovative space design, digital literacy, and assessment. We will also discuss the investments in people, technology, and resources to leverage the capacity of VR/AR to effect transformative change for student success.

Outcomes: Explore the immersive learning technology landscape, emerging practices, and its pedagogical foundations * Engage different stakeholders on campus in developing immersive learning projects and strategic vision * Use the design thinking process and template provided to prototype VR/AR projects * Identify a set of platforms and ideas for immediate implementation * Discuss project VR/AR workflows and requirements * Explore and evaluate space design recommendations
