Among the fastest-changing areas of edtech is lecture capture. Two instructional technologists will share the new tools they are using to optimize lecture capture at UC San Diego, including a Sautter Gold Award–winning autotracking camera system that is accurate without requiring instructors to be captured beforehand, wear devices, or stay in a limited area; a fully self-contained, easy-to-setup light board designed for live lecture hall use; and several alternatives to traditional lecture capture (instructor camera kits, the Presentation Station, and the brand-new Panorama Player). For those evaluating video-delivery systems, the best features to look for will also be made available.
Outcomes: Understand the best way to use traditional lecture capture tools in order to optimize students' ability to access effective lectures online * Explore the new lecture capture technologies available to decide whether some of these tools can enhance students' ability to access effective lectures online * Learn about the features to look for when evaluating video delivery systems
