The Path to Retention: Equipping Students with Better Math, Writing, and Soft Skills

Tuesday, January 30 | 1:45PM–2:30PM CT | Galerie 3, Second Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Many students begin college with gaps in skills required to succeed. Those deficits translate to retention problems and tuition losses when students fail, withdraw, or abandon degree programs. New approaches to student success and retention are emerging—learning experiences that leverage active, personalized, and adaptive learning to close skill gaps will be the answer. We provide learning technology that educators use to develop lessons that help students master writing, math, soft skills, etc. Join us to discuss what's coming next in student success.

Outcomes:
Explore ideas to bridge the gap between what we know from learning science research and what's happening in higher education * Get a fresh strategy for improving student success and retention * Increase awareness of how technology can help fill learning gaps
