Session Activity

What are the characteristics of successful change management strategies? What are the three key elements to keep in when designing a change management strategy? How can this theory be applied to any change initiative? This session will introduce key concepts in change management, illustrating those concepts using the experience of Rio Salado College in building a change management plan.

Session 2: The Anchor for EVERY Action in Your Plan: Trust

March 15, 2017, 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET; convert to your time zone.

This session will introduce a model for building, sustaining, and repairing trust—the key element underlying every successful change management strategy.

Session Activity

"Nothing is a fast as the speed of trust" (Stephen Covey). Despite the intangible nature of the concept, there are very specific and concrete things every team and leader can do to create, sustain, repair, and build the trust needed to move initiatives forward. At the end of the day, it isn't whether people like you or your idea; it's whether they trust you.

Session 3: Rubber Meets Road: Testing Change Management Concepts

March 22, 2017, 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET; convert to your time zone.

This session will provide participants with a chance to apply their knowledge of change management to a change management initiative.

Session Activity

Using a composite institutional profile, participants will be actively engaged to analyze the change management decisions of administrators implementing a major initiative. Test your ability to measure urgency, identify and resolve resistance issues, and develop strategies to embed the change. Prepare to jump in and sharpen your skills.
