Learning Lab | Digital Learning Fundamentals: Guided Self-Paced

April 1–May 30, 2024 (guided self-paced)

Overview

Research supports that high-quality, equitable digital learning promotes student success. This Learning Lab: “Digital Learning Fundamentals: Guided Self-Paced” will introduce educators to the essential course elements for creating effective, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences for their students. Additionally, case studies of successful implementation at various types of institutions will be shared in order to give guidance on what others have done to successfully incorporate those elements into their classes. This Learning Lab includes a set of resources, and asynchronous discussions, which will culminate in the development of a “Digital Learning Toolkit” that can be used to guide improvement of digital learning. This guided, self-paced, online, four week program will be 100% asynchronous.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the basic components of digital learning that provide high-quality, equitable digital learning experiences for students.
  • Relate how digital learning can promote equity in the classroom.
  • Describe how one of the provided case studies might provide guidance to improve your course.
  • Develop a “Toolkit for Digital Learning” that can be used to revise a current course or create a new course that promotes equity and follows best practice guidelines for a high quality digital learning experience.
