Data management plans (DMPs) are most commonly associated with grant proposals. But as they are written descriptions of how researchers plan to conduct their work, they also contain a wealth of useful, actionable information for staff members who support these researchers. This poster will explore how DMP contents are enhancing library support and services at Northeastern University. We will highlight the potential for DMPs to inform decision-making, strategic planning, and even cost savings beyond libraries, with particular emphasis on implications for colleagues in IT.
Outcomes: Investigate components of a typical DMP that might contain information relevant to your work * Cite examples of information contained in a DMP of potential strategic interest to your work * Explore how you might gain access to DMPs at your institution and potential issues with obtaining this information
