Wednesday, March 28, 2018 | 9:30AM–10:15AM ET | Room 551
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
This presentation will address the fundamental principles of user-experience design for improving students' engagement in online learning and identify the synchronicity between methodologies associated with UX and ID fields. Students have an expectation that the digital environment should be easy to navigate and clearly support academic outcomes. While current iterations of the LMS attempt to address this, it is essential to understand effective user design and how it can be applied to LMS idiosyncrasies. This presentation will include activities where participants can identify and share creative and effective student experiences in the online environment.

Outcomes: Apply UX methodology to online courses to improve student experience * Identify approaches to overcome LMS limitations that benefit students and faculty * Build a knowledge base of LMS capabilities to improve the online course environment
