Tuesday, March 26, 2024 | 11:30AM–12:15PM ET | Room 553 AB
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation or Panel Session
A strong security posture and best practice in cybersecurity today includes the dual concepts of both the Securing of Identity and Access Management (IAM). These core functions have skyrocketed to the top of CIO agendas in recent years, given the rapidly increasing risks posed by the expansion of Cloud Services and the rising demand for remote work. However, IAM is not just an IT or security problem. To do it right, a close partnership with the business must be forged and maintained through regular communication and robust collaboration. In this session, a peek into the journey to establish a formal IAM practice in higher education will be offered. Some of the intricacies behind the IAM goal of enabling the right individuals or entities to access the right resources at the right times for the right reasons will be explored along with lessons learned. The discussion will conclude with an overview of future trends, given that organizations must constantly evolve their identity and access management (IAM) infrastructure to be more secure, resilient, innovative, and distributed.
