Dashboards That Matter: Unconventional Strategic Uses of Live Data from Multiple Sources

Tuesday, March 26, 2024 | 11:30AM–12:15PM ET | Room 552 AB
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Facilitated Discussion
In 2022-23, the IT group in the College of Education collaborated with administrators and academic advisors to create live dashboards in Microsoft Power Bi that make it easier for three departments to coordinate class scheduling. In this session, we will present our experience as a case study for solving a central planning problem with unconventional strategic use of live data, followed by discussion activities that help participants explore similar approaches at their institutions. By adopting unconventional strategic uses of live data in dashboards, we demonstrate how one can solve an immediate issue by making the data we have on hand more accessible and useful. This session will help jump-start ideas for effective data visualizations and collaborative efforts within your organization.
