The configuration of access for former employees presents unique challenges of balancing information security with the need for individuals to retrieve essential employment records, post-departure. This presentation outlines our approach to restructuring Workday access for former employees at Amherst College, creating a secure, controlled access period specifically designed to enable retrieval of tax and employment-related documents. By rethinking access controls, our team aimed to address compliance and user needs, ensuring that former employees have access to necessary records, such as W2s and paystubs, while minimizing risk to institutional data integrity and manual efforts.
