Tuesday, April 01, 2025 | 3:00PM–3:45PM ET | Ballroom A-C (Exhibit Hall)
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased inequality in academic performance in higher education and left many students ill-prepared to meet academic challenges, particularly in computation-based fields. As college classrooms diversify at an increasing rate, instructors face the urgent need to adapt pedagogical strategies to be able to support students affected by a variety of socioeconomic factors, including access to technology, financial instability, and differences in the level of parental support. This session introduces innovative pedagogical strategies designed to address these disparities in both virtual and in-person computationally intensive learning environments. Join us for a dynamic and engaging discussion regarding practical techniques to mitigate the widening achievement gap and create adaptable instructional strategies that cater to the unique needs of diverse learners.
