Students and faculty alike are seeking ways to create meaningful connections in the online classroom. These connections can be facilitated through the use of video tools, which can improve the positive social presence in online courses. Flipgrid is emerging as an asynchronous video discussion tool that can facilitate conversation in an online classroom. Through the use of short video interactions, students are reporting an increased feeling of connectedness with both instructors and peers.
