Implementing a Technology Lending Center and Watching It Grow

Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
In 2014, Franklin & Marshall College invested in a Technology Lending Center (TLC) to support the A/V needs of the campus. Growing from a small lending center of 2–3 outdated cameras and a handful of laptops and projectors to a 300+ piece facility took serious planning and organization. Aided by the web-based checkout program WebCheckOut, we have consistently grown our resources and, most importantly, our campus use over the years. With every problem presented, we have come up with a thoughtful solution. We'll explore how we did it and how can you can do it too.

Outcomes: Get a firsthand account of how a small service was transformed into a thriving, valuable enterprise with limited space and funds * Recognize and identify the benefits and challenges of creating a technology lending service on campus * Identify possibilities to assist and support staff, faculty, and students in their campus missions through the use of technology
