Streamlining Student Video Assignments

Wednesday, March 20 | 1:00PM–1:45PM ET | Room 552
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
Student created videos allow instructors to conduct a wide range of assessments, from student presentations to foreign language exercises. Previously, the video production process presented the potential for multiple technical complications in capturing, editing, and sharing videos, which can shift the focus from the learning objectives of an assignment to the technical process of video production. This session will share some of the technological and instructional best practices we have developed to provide students a streamlined way of creating videos for academic assignments

Outcomes: Understand specific use cases for Student Video assignments and potential technological hurdles associated with those cases. Select technological solutions for each stage of video production process – video capture, editing, hosting and sharing -based on the use case. Implement instructional best practices for student video assignments.
