It Is NICE to Have a Cybersecurity Staffing Program

Thursday, April 12 | 11:00AM–12:00PM ET | Watertable Ballroom AB, Fifth Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
Building or rebuilding a cybersecurity staff in higher education can be challenging, particularly when salaries and benefits are limited. Depending on other factors such as location, we may be further constrained by available talent. Consequently, every hire is a mission-critical decision. A strategic staffing method detailing appropriate responsibilities, training, education, and career paths for maximizing our team's effectiveness becomes a key part of our cybersecurity program. In this session, we will examine the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework for developing our staffing program, along with a tool to simplify its use.

Outcomes: Employ a tool enabling use of the NICE framework * Better understand the NICE framework * Determine the knowledge, skills, and abilities appropriate to cybersecurity roles
