The Convergence Forum | Diversity in Admissions - Who Gets In and Why?

For our second virtual session, our guest will be award-winning higher education journalist and New York Times bestselling author Jeffrey Selingo. Mary Boyd, President of the Association of Chief Academic Officers, and Cole Clark, Managing Director, Deloitte Higher Education, will team up to discuss with Jeff the issues and topics covered in his forthcoming book Who Gets In and Why – A Year Inside College Admissions. While much has changed in just the past five months since the onset of the pandemic, many of the admissions and enrollment factors—diversity, ability to pay, propensity to enroll—are all still extremely relevant. We will also discuss how the uncertainty around whether institutions can safely open or will remain “virtual” in the near term is affecting admissions in 2020–21, and what the longer-term implications of this fall's experience could be for higher education enrollment.

Those who attend the live session will be eligible to receive a signed copy of Jeff’s book, compliments of the Convergence Forum.
