Webinar | Data Sharing During a Pandemic: Protecting Privacy While Promoting Safety

With the election in the rearview mirror and the extended winter break just ahead, higher education leaders have a valuable window of time to examine their approach for returning to campus. The complexity of the situation now includes vaccination policies along with ongoing tracking protocols while keeping data privacy top of mind. At the onset of the pandemic, contact tracing sparked safety and ethics discussions, requiring leaders to focus on reducing privacy risk and building greater trust with students and faculty alike. This spring, institutions will face a different set of hurdles. Leaders must remain resolute in their commitment to safeguarding privacy and ethical data usage while adjusting to the ever-changing new norms. This panel discussion explores the current state of data privacy in higher education, the new risks and challenges vaccination planning may introduce, and how leaders can continue to evolve the data privacy conversation.
