Webinar | 2026 EDUCAUSE Workforce: Can Higher Education Break The Cycle of Reactivity?
Resource constraints are not new in higher education, but their effects on teams’ day-to-day work continue to deepen. Drawing on findings from the 2026 EDUCAUSE Workforce Report: Can Higher Education Break the Cycle of Reactivity?, this webinar will explore how ongoing constraints, growing demands, and limited institutional responses can keep teams stuck in reactive mode. We will look at how that cycle takes shape across institutions, the formal and informal ways teams are adapting to keep work moving, and the longer-term costs those adaptations may carry for morale, retention, and institutional capacity. Participants will gain a clearer picture of where pressure is building most, why many responses remain reactive, and what teams say they need to work more effectively.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand how teams can get stuck in reactive mode
- Identify institutional practices that may be reinforcing strain
- Evaluate strategies teams are using to manage constraints
- Apply practical approaches to prioritization, workload, and capacity support
- Identify actions that can help teams move toward more sustainable progress
