Webinar | Campus Security Awareness in the Age of AI

Provided by Infosec, a division of Cengage Learning | 2026 EDUCAUSE Strategic Partner

This webinar is a part of the EDUCAUSE Industry Insights series.

Faculty, staff and students face the same fast-changing threat landscape, but they do not always respond to the same messages. In the age of AI, familiar social engineering tactics are becoming more convincing and harder to recognize. This session shares a practical framework for strengthening campus security awareness over time— starting with where your program is today, learning from how your community responds, and building on what works.

Drawing on real-world higher education examples, including Syracuse University, we’ll explore how institutions tailor awareness for different campus audiences, learn from phishing and reporting data, and apply those lessons over time. You’ll also see a brief demonstration of how AI is changing familiar threats, and leave with free resources you can adapt to your own program.

  • Assess your program’s current maturity and identify a practical next step.
  • Tailor awareness efforts for faculty, staff, and students based on distinct risks and behaviors.
  • Use phishing, reporting, and engagement signals to learn what to reinforce or change.
  • Apply lessons from higher education peers to build a stronger year-round program.
