Webinar | The Impact of AI on Learning Assessment

Sponsored by Zoom | 2026 EDUCAUSE Mission Partner

Few areas of higher education have been as passionately debated as learning assessment in the age of AI. Since the debut and rapid adoption of readily available generative AI chatbots, educators have grappled with how learning assessment would be impacted. Educators have weighed in with opinions ranging from “AI will revolutionize higher education” to “AI will destroy higher education,” and everything in between.

To that end, EDUCAUSE presents this research on the impact of AI on learning assessment. By only surveying individuals currently doing the hands-on work of learning assessment, we can provide you with information about how the learning assessment landscape is changing in practice, not just in theory.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Become familiar with research insights into how AI is impacting assessment in higher education.
  • Understand how this research is related to larger trends.
  • Learn specific steps you can take to support your assessment practices.
