Webinar | Vibe Coding Basics: From Idea to Working Tool
Vibe coding describes software in plain language and lets an AI build it. It is moving from novelty to everyday practice, including on campus. Most people don't know where to start.
This session covers the basics: how to think about and develop an idea with AI before building anything, and how to determine the tools to try. We'll walk through one small idea from start to finish, include a simulated focus group, and cover changes that occur at intermediate and advanced levels, including adversarial review passes.
Attendees will leave with a clear mental model and a first project to try this week. This session covers personal and team tools. It is not meant as guidance for building institutional systems.
Learning Outcomes:
- Explain vibe coding and how to direct an AI builder.
- Develop and refine an idea with an LLM before building.
- Choose a starting tool for a first small project.
- Use simulated focus groups and adversarial passes to improve results.
- Recognize when a project needs your institution's review.
