The Visualizing Instructional Practices (VIP) service at CU Boulder provides faculty with a powerful means to assess their teaching. Using validated, structured observation protocols to record classroom behaviors, we will present innovative data visualizations that characterize the relationship between classroom activities and student engagement, enabling instructors to make data-driven teaching decisions.

Outcomes: Understand the benefit of applying multiple classroom observation protocols simultaneously * Identify specific instructional practices that we have found to be most engaging for students * Develop strategies for designing and visualizing your own classroom observations to inform teaching practices
