Thursday, November 01 | 3:15PM–4:00PM MT | Board 101, Poster Area, Exhibit Hall B-E
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
We will discuss a pilot project to leverage Blackboard Predict machine learning along with a homegrown early alert system, with a track record of more than 20 years, that improves institutional effectiveness and efficiency by helping identify at-risk students to support their academic success early in a term.

Outcomes: Understand why we used a vendor solution to validate a homegrown intervention of 20+ years * Understand why we wanted to identify at-risk undergraduates without increasing faculty workload * Learn how we proposed to intervene with students earlier in a term than in the past
