IT leadership must focus on relationships. This presentation shares concepts of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and its four competency domains: Self-awareness, Self-management, Social awareness, and Relationship management. IT leaders will gain an understanding emotions play in interactions, and how both awareness of and management of one’s emotions enable more productive interactions.

Outcomes: 1. Define Emotional Intelligence (EI) and how increasing one’s Emotional Intelligent Quotient enhances the quality of interactions. 2. Identify applying concepts of Emotional Intelligence in daily interactions for successful relationship building. 3. Understand the unique value of relationships to technology organizations and the criticality of focusing on people.
