We will discuss the viewpoints of the IT management, security, and network engineering teams that collaborated and implemented a multifaceted Palo Alto Networks security platform at Temple. After reviewing the scope of the university's network, endpoint, and cloud security needs and considering our centralized IT organizational structure, we'll explore the motivations and business drivers for migrating to Palo Alto. We will also discuss the policy, organizational, and technical challenges of the multiphased implementation of our security architecture design and lessons learned during our journey.
Outcomes: Learn how to improve network use and traffic visibility * Understand how simplifying network segmentation allows for both greater control and openness for students * Reduce your network security complexity (number of rules) * Get proactive insights into continually enhancing network security capabilities
