Preserving privacy while investigating a cyber incident can be challenging, especially in an environment where academic freedom and individual rights are fiercely guarded. We will explore how to mitigate privacy risks while investigating and remediating a cyber investigation, including a discussion of which stakeholders should be involved.

Outcomes: Be able to explain to IT and non-IT stakeholders how to identify and balance privacy interests while investigating and remediating a cyber incident * Identify the appropriate stakeholders at the institution for involvement in a cyber incident investigation * Review and revise existing policies and procedures to address issues of privacy
