¡Adelante! Building Inclusive IT Leadership One Path at a Time
Latina/o professionals in higher education IT often navigate the tension of living between two worlds, carrying deep cultural roots while working to transform historically exclusive institutional systems. This session offers a space to explore how Latina/o technologists, leaders, and innovators are building with one vision: a future where identity, equity, and leadership coexist at the center of higher ed tech progress. Panelists will share their unique journeys, discussing challenges, cultural identity, systemic bias, and the lack of mentorship, while also highlighting triumphs in leadership, innovation, and community building. This session aims to inform and also inspire a call to action for building a more diverse, representative future in higher education technology by centering the lived realities of underrepresented professionals in technology. This session aligns with the EDUCAUSE promise for equity and inclusion by promoting awareness, empathy, and actionable change. Whether you're a senior leader, aspiring professional, or an ally, this session will provide insights into how to elevate Latina/o voices, build more inclusive teams, and sustain a culture of belonging in higher education IT.
