Building an XR Community: A Cross-Functional Approach

Georgia Tech formed a cross-functional team on XR to foster a dynamic XR (Extended Reality) community on campus. This presentation will highlight the team's collaborative efforts, key initiatives, and significant outcomes. The team, comprising members from Georgia Tech Professional Education, the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U), Georgia Tech's living laboratory for fundamental educational change, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Library, aims to explore and implement XR technologies and foster engagement. Attendees will gain insights into the team's strategies for integrating XR technologies into academic and research environments, building a collaborative XR community, and understanding the impact of XR on teaching and learning. The presentation will explore key initiatives and outcomes, discuss the development of an XR inventory and resource acquisition, highlight collaborative efforts and partnerships, and share future plans for sustaining and expanding the XR community.
