Burnout to Balance: Leading with Wellbeing in Higher Ed IT

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 1:00PM–1:45PM CT | Meeting Room 103, Level 1
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Being an IT leader in higher ed comes with a lot of pressure—nonstop demands, complex campus challenges, and the constant demand to keep up with new tech. But all that stress can take a toll on our well-being, the strength of our teams, and the overall culture we’re trying to build. Panelists will share their own stories of the mental and physical health challenges they've faced,  as well as their strategies for managing stress and staying resilient. We’ll talk about how to create a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and empowered—starting with trust, respect, and compassion. You’ll hear how leading by example in practicing self-compassion can make a huge difference in building resilience, keeping burnout at bay, and helping your teams excel. It’s all about thriving, not just surviving, in the dynamic world of higher ed IT.
