Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 9:45AM–10:30AM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Enterprise Central, Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster
As institutions seek scalable, sustainable, and flexible learning models, UC Berkeley School of Optometry has emerged as a model of innovation in higher education. This session will share new findings from a collaborative EDUCAUSE case study uncovering how UC Berkeley is working to deploy affordable, flexible, and streamlined solutions to rapidly and effectively enable HyFlex learning across campus, from retrofitting legacy classrooms to designing future-ready buildings and expansions. Berkeley’s initiative addresses a challenge many higher education institutions face: limited IT resources, aging infrastructure, and the need for a consistent, accessible hybrid teaching and learning experience. Attendees will learn how UC Berkeley is advancing access and flexibility through HyFlex learning while also laying the groundwork for broader digital transformation. You'll gain insight into how these efforts can translate to your own institution. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a clear understanding of UC Berkeley’s deployment strategy, from technology selection and faculty onboarding to centralized AV management and best practices, that point to the future of hybrid learning in higher education.
