From Podium to People: An Unexpected, Disruptive Summer Camp

The learning design summer camp planning committee piloted a new conference format known as an un-conference. All previous iterations of the learning design summer camp were planned using the traditional scheduled session format. The change in format to an un-conference enabled participants to determine presentation and learning topics on the day of the event. The process included real-time idea generation, thematic organization, prioritization, and immediate session selection. This participatory model fostered an interactive, dialogue-based environment, promoting organic knowledge exchange tailored to the immediate interests and needs of attendees.
