From Strategy to Action: Building a Sustainable Digital Future through Enterprise Web Governance

How do you turn a bold digital vision into actionable, lasting change? In this session, presenters from Indiana University will share their experience launching a multi-year Digital Strategy Initiative (DSI) aimed at creating a more accessible, sustainable, and strategic digital ecosystem across campus. In its first year, the DSI team tackled key challenges including tool and support infrastructure, content strategy development, and domain consolidation. This included a wide-scale website accessibility remediation effort, adoption of SiteImprove for enterprise web governance, the creation of new governance processes, and strategic migration of campus gateway sites. Presenters will share successes, challenges, and lessons learned from this complex initiative—including what worked, what didn’t, and what’s next. Attendees will leave with practical strategies and implementation ideas they can take back to their own institutions—whether they’re just starting a digital strategy or refining an existing one.
