From Systems to Strategy: Advancing Digital Learning with the EASIE Framework and Study Compass
Discover how a visionary cross-departmental collaboration turned a routine Learning Management System (LMS) selection process into a strategic driver for institutional transformation. Recognizing the integral role of the LMS in the student learning experience, the strategic partnership between the ICTS and Education & Innovation departments rapidly became instrumental in developing an Innovative Digital Work and Learning Landscape designed to seamlessly integrate optimal learning tools for both students and educators. Central to this initiative is the EASIE framework that ensures that all technology choices are Easy to use, Add value, are Safe, Integrated and guided by an Exit strategy. Beyond platform integration, this effort leverages rich data from both the LMS and Student Information System to support learning analytics. The result: Study Compass, a comprehensive learning analytics dashboard. Additionally, a psychodiagnostic screening instrument was introduced to assist first-year students in understanding their cognitive abilities. The Study Compass facilitates conversations, personalized guidance, and support from study coaches, with the goal of steering students toward academic success. This session explores how strategic alignment, data integration, and a shared pedagogical vision can enhance student achievement. Participants will leave with practical models and scalable strategies to inform their own institution’s digital transformation and student success initiatives.
