Future-Ready or Falling Behind: Are you Ready for Generation Alpha?

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 4:30PM–5:15PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Teaching & Learning Central, Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster
In just three years, the first wave of Generation Alpha will start arriving on college campuses. Born in 2010, the same year the iPad and Instagram launched, this mobile-first, AI-literate generation will bring unprecedented expectations for digital experiences and campus technology. While many institutions are focused on meeting the needs of today’s students, this session will challenge whether current IT and digital strategies are truly built for long-term success. This session will explore the findings of a unique and exclusive research study, presented for the first time at EDUCAUSE 2025, into Gen Alpha’s tech behaviors, learning preferences, and expectations. Discover how institutions must evolve to engage a generation shaped by devices, short-form video, hybrid learning, and AI. Attendees will be challenged by thought-provoking insights and questions and will gain practical knowledge about adapting IT infrastructure, digital services, and pedagogy to ensure institutions stay relevant, scalable, and student-centric in 2028 and beyond.
