How can AI help colleges improve student motivation, engagement, and persistence while reducing faculty and administrative burden? My Learning Coach (MLC) is an AI-powered tool that provides real-time insights into student learning state of mind and behaviors, delivering personalized nudges and referrals to proactive in-person interventions as needed. This session explores how MLC uses AI to detect student disengagement, facilitate targeted support, and increase student retention. Presenters will share pilot results from UC Irvine, where MLC students improved student engagement and faculty-student connections. Attendees will discuss integrating AI-driven solutions into existing academic support systems and explore how AI can enhance equity-minded, data-informed decision-making in the classroom.
