How Regional Data Sharing Among K12, 2-year and 4-year Partners Is Transforming Student Outcomes

Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 4:00PM–4:45PM CT | Meeting Room 106 C, Level 1
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
When institutions share student-level data—not just aggregate reports—they unlock powerful insights that can transform educational and career outcomes. In Northern California, the Sacramento K-16 Collaborative is leading a historic breakthrough in cross-sector data sharing that enables K-12 schools, County Offices of Education, and regional 2- and 4-year colleges to align more effectively around student success. This session will highlight how the Collaborative’s efforts are breaking down silos to improve advising, streamline college and career transitions, and close equity gaps for students—especially those historically underserved. Learn how this work not only benefits individual learners but also fuels inclusive economic growth and regional prosperity by building a more connected and responsive talent pipeline. The session will provide insights into how a regional data-sharing agreement was constructed, challenges of data sharing and how they were overcome,  and provide an overview of the technical elements of how data sharing is facilitated across the region.
