Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 2:15PM–3:00PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Teaching & Learning Central, Community Collaboration Station
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Extended Reality (XR) offers a transformative and engaging medium for student projects. New low-code XR platforms, AI generative tools and robust development platforms such as Unity and Unreal offer students of all disciplines and technical abilities the opportunity to build and share immersive projects. But these technologies present unique challenges for educators and technical support staff. This session explores the realities of managing XR student projects in classroom settings, focusing on team collaboration, technical limitations, and pedagogical strategies for balancing innovation with realistic deliverables. Attendees will gain insights into resource allocation, navigating ethical concerns, and fostering creativity in project design while addressing the complexities of technology integration. Drawing from case studies and lessons learned, this session aims to provide practical frameworks for educators to successfully guide students in creating impactful XR solutions that align with academic and professional standards.
