Lemonade From Lemons: How We Are Navigating the Unexpected in our SIS Implementation

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 10:45AM–11:30AM CT | Meeting Room 105, Level 1
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
In any major system implementation, setbacks occur, and delays are inevitable. Join Pittsburgh State University for this panel presentation featuring our CIO, registrar, director of development, and director of project management. This team will share its collective approach to navigating the unexpected in our Student Information System (SIS) implementation. Rather than allowing it to derail our plans, PSU is making lemonade from lemons—by turning the challenge into an opportunity for growth and innovation. Each panelist will discuss the strategies being used from their unique perspectives, focusing on how PSU is maintaining momentum, keeping stakeholders engaged, and enhancing preparedness for the eventual rollout. A key component of the approach is ensuring clear and transparent communication and creating both internal and external partnerships. This session provides valuable insights into managing project disruptions, fostering resilience, and leading through effective communication. Lemonade, anyone?
