Making It Work: Developing Strategic Technology Adoption Skills

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 | 3:30PM–4:15PM CT | Meeting Room 201, Level 2
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Higher education professionals work with third-party technology solutions every day. For professionals who are early in their careers, it can be difficult to understand how best to optimize solutions and manage workplace dynamics related to technology solutions. In this panel discussion, you’ll hear from members of the EDUCAUSE Young Professionals Advisory Committee (YPAC) and Ellucian as they discuss the skills and mindsets to support strategic technology implementations, including change management and systems thinking foundations, regardless of your role. You will learn how to develop skill sets to be a strategic thinker and adopt a change management mindset for technology partnerships and evolving business processes; understand how to work across silos, communicate with various stakeholders, and build foundational understanding of the value of enterprise architecture; and consider the importance of resource capacity needs during vendor selection and implementation. Supported by Ellucian, 2025 EDUCAUSE Mission Partner, and the EDUCAUSE Young Professionals Advisory Committee
