Marketing the Value of University IT Support

Learn to help your CIO tell their success stories and communicate the value of IT services and teams to different audiences. As a strategic enabler, university IT support is a key component in implementing some of the tough decisions prompted by institutional budget challenges. These challenges also present marketing opportunities, such as storytelling that demonstrates the value university IT support brings to the table. This session kicks off with several recent ideas contributed by members of the IT Communications Community Group to prompt additional suggestions and feedback from other participants. The examples will be drawn from case studies, impact newsletters, annual reports, and other publications or activities suggested in a United States and United Kingdom IT Communications focus group meeting from May, 2025. Following the discussion, new ideas and suggestions from the audience will be added to the resource list shared in the Connect Library and accessible through a QR code on the final slide.
