Session Type: Breakout Session

Mind the Gap: Reimagining Student Belonging through Coordinated Support Systems    Despite increasing investment in student success, many learners still feel disconnected from the very systems designed to support them. Two large-scale longitudinal surveys, "Listening to Learners 2025" and "Driving Towards a Degree 2025," reveal stark gaps in student awareness of available services, their sense of belonging, and the institutional coordination needed to foster stronger outcomes. This session draws on those findings to help campus leaders and practitioners reimagine academic support in and out of the classroom with students—not just systems—at the center. Attendees will explore actionable strategies to ensure that students know about, trust, and effectively use services across advising, career development, mental health, coaching / mentoring, and regular interactions with faculty, and more. The goal: build coordinated ecosystems that truly serve the diverse needs of today’s learners.
