Navigating the Rapids: Leading ERP Transformation Amid Leadership Turnover in Higher Ed

Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 10:45AM–11:30AM CT | Meeting Room 101 E, Level 1
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Successfully planning and deploying a modern ERP in the complex environment of a research-intensive higher education institution (with affiliates that include health care and athletics) is difficult enough, but when senior leadership transitions and turnover take place during the initiative, the risks increase exponentially. This challenge is becoming increasingly common as the average tenure for university presidents today is roughly 5.9 years (down nearly 2 years in just the last decade). Many senior leadership roles turn over in an even shorter timeframe. This session will share lessons learned and strategies for navigating this disruption by examining the administrative system transformation which occurred in the midst of presidential and other CXO turnover at the University of Florida.
