Successful technical change only occurs when people are ready and willing to engage, adopt, and use new technology. This session will explore Ohio University’s learning management system migration from Blackboard to Canvas, focusing on user-centered activities like stakeholder engagement, training, support, and resistance mitigation. Key outcomes of Ohio University’s transition include 99% student awareness, 90% positive student sentiment, and 93% course adoption (as of the 2025 spring semester). Designed for institutions with limited resources, this session shares practical change management strategies such as tailored learning pathways, targeted communication plans, success measurement, and post-launch considerations.
