Program review and productivity is a complex and necessary process as more higher education institutions focus on the costs and benefits of offering programs. This presentation reviews the recent revision of program review policy and metric development at the University of North Carolina System Office, a system of 16 North Carolina public universities that offer approximately 1,800 degree programs at all degree levels. Implementing the metrics included developing evaluation criteria and a process for scheduling systematic program review. In addition to the process and decision-making of the metric development, the template and initial outcomes will be presented.
